The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of the Internet

The Good - http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/04/reddit-internet-solving-fighting-crime

I think this article sums up very well how the Internet can help professionals solve crimes. Almost everything is documented on the Internet, and all of these things can be used to fight crime and find evidence against alleged criminals, like the Boston bombers, who are used as a prime example in this article. It shows how users of Reddit can put together a compilation of possible suspects of a crime before the FBI even looks at it, and therefore, can use it as possible leads.

The Bad - http://netforbeginners.about.com/od/lockdownyourpc/tp/The-Nastiest-People-on-the-Internet.htm

This list of bad Internet users basically sums up the bad of the Internet. Not everybody on the Internet is a friendly person using it for the right reasons. From anywhere to hacking your computer to stealing your private information, there are many bad people on the Internet, who lure unsuspecting people into their online traps.

The Ugly - http://www.healthychildren.org/english/family-life/media/pages/The-Internet-and-Your-Family.aspx?nfstatus=401&nftoken=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&nfstatusdescription=ERROR%3a+No+local+token

This article properly shows the ugly side of the Internet because of how children use it. It is one thing for an adult to be lured unsuspectingly online, but it is another thing for somebody to lure in a child intentionally. Many rape and homicide cases in children begin online because of online chat rooms, social media websites, and many more. We need to find a way to help stop this as the Internet progresses over time.
